Hey thanks for the "Enervation" compliment. As far as light sources like that one, try using "color burn" mode in your brushes. It creates a killer halo effect. I love your wolverine. (I would like to see one of your pieces as a composition though. not just a spot illustration.)
Food for thought: Your illustration style is 'acidic' (<Compliment) super high intensity colors and exaggeration.....

Thanks for the tip on colour burn, I've heard both dodge n burn mentioned frequently and tried both but certainly not been able to achieve a cool effect like that!
i know what you mean about spot illustration.. in terms of producing work for people I've only ever done logos, tattoo flash and tee designs.. would be interested to try some compositions. Started buying Digital FX recently too which has opened my mind up to that too.
Not sure what you mean by 'through the looking glass' though?

'Through the Looking Glass' is the title of the book commonly referred to as Alice in Wonderland.
Spot illustrations are illustrations that have no background and are typically used in an article or accompanying type. Tattoo flash is kinda like spot.
